It appears to be the season of kidnapping in Port Harcourt. On Monday, November 16, two lecturers were reportedly kidnapped in Port Harcourt by unknown gunmen. The female bursar of Rivers State Polytechnic Bori,
Lilian Ikombia Davies, and a lecturer in the department of management sciences of the University of Port Harcourt, Dr Iba Lebari, were reportedly kidnapped at different locations in the state on their
way home after work.
The bursar of the now Kenule Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic Bori, was intercepted at Akpajo-Eleme, along the East-West road in Eleme local government area of Rivers state.
On the other hand, the Uniport lecturer was said to have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen at the close of work on the same day Davies was also abducted.
Yesterday, November 18, it was also reported that Dr Ken Anugweje, the MD Lulu Briggs Health Centre in University of Port Harcourt was kidnapped and his driver was killed at the spot. Anugweje is the second Uniport staff to have been kidnapped within a space of one month and the whereabouts of the victims is yet unknown since their abduction.
Again, a popular Nollywood actress, Maureen Ihua was reportedly kidnapped today at a function in Port Harcourt on Ada George Road.
