Court Removes Actress Ibinabo Fiberesima As Nollywood AGN President

Ibinabo Fiberesima has been in the news recently for not the good reason. Just too recently, an  Appeal Court Upholds her 5 Years Jail Term For Reckless Driving  and has since been remanded in jail. The recent news is that she has been removed as President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) on the orders of a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.
Justice James Tsoho who gave the ruling, said the election was conducted against court order and ordered all parties involved to maintain the status quo.
The suit was filed by an actor, St. Maradona Mikevine, who was the national treasurer in the election that produced another popular actor, Emeka Ike, as AGN president.
Mikevine, in his suit, argued that the election that brought Ibinabo into office was conducted in the face of a subsisting court order restraining the conduct of AGN election.
Delivering his judgement in a suit filed by actor Maradonna Mikevine, the presiding judge, Justice James Tsoho, ruled that the October 2014 election that brought Ibinabo back for second term was against a subsisting court order obtained by actor Emeka Ike in 2013, restraining the AGN from conducting any elections.
You would recall that Emeka had dragged Ibinabo to court on July, 25 2013 following the formation of an extra body committee coined  "National Unity government" in the AGN, which was initially  led by the then outgoing President, Segun Arinze who later handed over power to Ibinabo after a disputed election.

Maradona Mikevine was the national treasurer in the election that produced  actor Emeka Ike, as AGN president. This led to number of litigation that has been bedeviling the guide  and Mikevine had filed the suit to contest Ibinabo’s election as AGN president.
Mikevine, in his suit, had  argued the court to determine whether  it was within the ambit of the law for the   election that brought Ibinabo into office to have been conducted in the face of a subsisting court order restraining the conduct of AGN election.

Just too much for a lady!
